69 Camaro goes under the knife to begin pro street conversion

Work begins on the complete build of a 69 Camaro hard core street/race car for a local customer. This car will be a mix of serious drag car styling and power while maintaining just enough streetability to hit up the local cruise nights.  Power will come via a Kinser built 500+ cubic inch blown Merlin big block with power being transferred through a power glide trans and laying it down through the massive meats out back. All fab work from chassis, body, to headers will be completed in house at Nightmare Motorsports so check back regularly to see this car come to life!

Pics from the build of the worlds first TT Viper swapped Mustang….”Project Sniper”

This a small gallery of just a fraction of the custom work completed on the Twin Turbo Viper powered 94 Mustang Cobra built by N*M*S owner Scott Vander Schoor. The car has been featured on many internet blog sites and you can follow the entire build of the car at Bangshift.com…..the build began 3 years ago in a small two car garage and is now under completion in the Nightmare Motorsports shop in Nevada, Iowa. When done not the car will have a Scott Clark tune worked on the AEM EMS and should produce anywhere from 950-1,100 rear wheel horsepower on E85….all while remaining 100% streetable and looking as unassuming as any 94 Mustang out there with it’s subtle body mods and 510 cubin inches of twin turbo V10 crammed under a stock hood….this is exactly the type of build we specialize in. Hard core street cars with a bit of “wolf in sheeps clothing” mixed in. Have a build in mind that’s equally over the top?? Let us know how we can help. There is nothing we won’t take on!

Check out some it’s featured write ups here by our good friends at BangShift.com

Nightmare Motorsports “Stealth Nozzle” begins testing

Nightmare Motorsports owner Scott Vander Schoor has began testing on the newest product to join the N*M*S arsenal.

Unofficially called the “Stealth Nozzle” this system utilizes an industry first single nitrous oxide delivery nozzle mounted INSIDE of a single plane intake manifold. This unique design solves a number of problems from hood clearance issues with a fogger plate, to wanting/needing as discreet of system as possible. The “Stealth Nozzle” delivers more precise flow and delivery then ANY plate or intake tract nozzle on the market. Not to mention the nozzle’s tapered nose provides a cleaner path for incoming air into the engine … all at what will be a fraction of the cost and fabrication involved with a direct port system with advantages that neither a plate or direct port system provide.

More info (like pricing, applications, and options) will become available in the coming weeks…for now here’s a sneak peek at the system.

Nightmare Motorsports roll cages

Nightmare Motorsports does custom built roll cages. Everything from NHRA to SCCA spec or perhaps you just need some extra strength in your hardcore street car…doing all of our own bends in house allows us to build the cage the way you WANT it…not just the way you can buy it.

Here are some examples of a cage built for use in a hard core street car. The double door bars add extreme rigidity without making it difficult to climb in and out of like a typical diaganol “drag car” door bar.

Fab work begins on Jake’s 10.5″ tire drag/street Mustang

Jake is building a 10.5″ tire car for a local class. Jake wants a good balance of street/strip performance which is what we specialize in at N*M*S….Jakes handling most of the build himself and contracting out N*M*S to handle the fabrication and roll cage. This will be one serious car when done!

These pics are of Scott modifying the rear brace of the Team Z 9″ rear for the installation of coil over brackets…..
